I've been neglecting my blog very badly lately. I recently got so caught up in my Twitter it's become my "daily blog".
A lot of things are happening at the moment and I find my time limited to do in depth blog posts as I used to. I will try and get back to it though and be more active :)

I just spend a wonderful week with my friend from Germany, Joane. It was super nice to see her in real life and we obviously did a lot of drawing as she's an artist as well.

I've been working on a new dark snow white past week and a lot of hours has gone into it so far. She's created with charcoal, markers and colour pencils.
I recently started to do A sketch a day on Twitter and I find it very interesting and good for me to do some loser sketching instead of full projects.
You can follow them all on my Twitter and I will try and post some of them here as well.

This is my sketch for the day:

Victoria Beckham turns her hand to car design for Range Rover

British fashion designer Victoria Beckham had her soccer-superstar husband "David in mind" when helping create a new special edition of Range Rover's off-road vehicle, the "Evoque".
"I've stayed very true to myself. I've designed a car that I want to drive, a car that I think David wants to drive," the former Spice Girl told Reuters in an interview in Beijing, where she was promoting the vehicle, late on Sunday.
"I think that though women will drive this car, it has a masculine edge. I think it's very cool," she added.
Beckham, who admitted she had never done a project like this before, said she had learned "an enormous amount."

"And the bottom line is, would I drive this car, like when I'm designing a dress, would I wear this dress? I love what I do. I consider myself so blessed to do a job that I love and this has been a great experience for me," said Beckham, wearing a sleeveless striped dress from her own collection.
She said she searched for inspiration in many places.
"I did a lot of research and not just with cars, old and new, but boats, planes, movie stars, different locations," she said. (Reuters)

HuffPost Style Takes a Look Back at the Year in Pippa Middleton’s Butt

After earning itself a Facebook group, a TLC movie special, a namesake surgical procedure and a special shout-out from Justin Timberlake, it's safe to say that this was the Year of Pippa's Bum.

To be fair, the "Crazy About Pippa" TV movie focused on her persona as a whole. (We're sure she's got a great personality!) But since the moment she stepped onto the red carpet at the Royal Wedding twelve months ago, all eyes have been fixated at the famous sib's most enviable feature.

Karl Lagerfeld Shot Supermodel Linda Evangelista for the New Chanel Eyewear Campaign

The revival of ’90s supermodels continues. In her first Chanel campaign since that decade, Linda Evangelista is the newest face of Chanel Eyewear. She succeeds fellow ’90s supermodel and current (revived) Guess girl Claudia Schiffer. Should we just stop calling them ’90s supermodels and instead refer to them as forever supermodels? They can’t be stopped. Nor do they age.

The Love cover girl looks as gorgeous as ever in the simple but eye-catching ads. Chanel also released a series of black-and-white behind the scenes images of the campaign shoot, which shows Karl Lagerfeld doing his other day job–photographing the campaigns for every brand he’s involved with. He’s also seen using an iPad, so now we know he actually knows how to use one.

The designer, who left his post as creative director of Jil Sander in February, will show his first collection for Dior during Couture Week in July, and will hold the official title of "artistic director".

"Mr Christian Dior has always been for me the most inspiring couturier. Around the globe, the name Dior symbolises the ultimate in elegance and refinement. I am truly humbled and honoured to become artistic director of the most celebrated French house in the world." (Vogue)

New York City Releases Fashion NYC2020 Report

PUBLIC SCHOOL, one of our {CFDA Fashion Incubator}
esigners, jacket in the making.
WWD -New York City officials’ release of the Fashion NYC2020 final report Tuesday did not present the rosiest forecast for the apparel industry. The U.S. apparel industry is expected to decline at a continued rate of 2 percent annually. More significant growth is predicted in the BRIC countries, where the annual GDP increase is expected to be between 6 and 9 percent.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg and other industry supporters used the 27-page report to highlight the need to enhance the city as a top destination for designers and fashion design entrepreneurs, bolster its reputation as a hub of the wholesale trade and department stores and as a global center for fashion media, marketing and retailing. The report listed several ways to help the city fashion industry stand apart — attract top talent to enhance the business side of fashion, set up more networking and metoring opportunities, develop a hub of innovation for specialty and multichannel stores and assist emerging designers with loans for production and vetted local factories.
From 2004 to 2009, consumer spending at U.S. off-price retailers grew at 6 percent annually, while spending at mid-tier department stores fell by 4 percent annually, the report noted. On a more positive note, New York fashion week generates $532 million in direct visitor spending and $865 million in total economic impact each year.

My days

I'm spending the Easter days with my family and it's been great. Today we had sunshine. Went to the beach I grew up nearby with my boyfriend, the weather was beautiful and definitely made the ocean appear just beautiful.

First time of the year jumping on my brothers huge trampoline so I predict a sore body tomorrow :)

Look at the cutie dog Balloo, there is no cuter dog than him, I wish he was mine. I'll be doing a portrait of him later this year as I got such great shots of him with my lovely new iPhone. I can't believe I actually have a phone that works now.

Hope you are having a lovely Easter with you family.
Take care.

Gary Oldman: Dressing the part

Gary Oldman's career is a significant achievement, even by Hollywood standards: over the past three decades he has taken on iconic characters - fictional, real and somewhere in-between - such as Sid Vicious, Count Dracula, Ludwig van Beethoven and Lee Harvey Oswald, bringing each to the screen with obsessive attention to detail.

Though I liked Bowie, I was never into the glam thing - it was all a bit much. I was never a punk either, though I got to play Sid Vicious in Sid and Nancy. Looking back, I suppose the role I had in Meantime - Coxy the skinhead - was closer to my personal style. That bomber jacket he wears was my own, out of the cupboard, and those knee-high Dr Martens were Tim Roth's. He loaned them to me because we were looking for a pair that was worn.
As a drama student I got into Thirties and Forties suits. There was this place in Holborn called something like Blax, where this guy had these second-hand suits and boxes of these vintage shirts that were still in their polythene wrappers.
When I first went there, you wore a shirt and tie with a pin through the collar under the tie, with an old, smart single- or double-breasted suit. The trousers hung beautifully as they had a turn-up that was weighted with a little piece of leather. Then, of course, you had to get the shoes: shiny brogues and Oxfords. It was another uniform, I suppose, but I remember being the only one who dressed like that.

First look at Gareth Pugh's ballet costumes for Carbon Life

Gareth Pugh's design for Carbon Life
The fashion designer Gareth Pugh has turned costume designer for a new Wayne McGregor ballet scored by Mark Ronson that premieres tomorrow at the Royal Opera House.Which is why McGregor chose him.

"Wayne's […] only thing was to say that he never works with point shoes and tutus. He really wanted to see what my version of those things would be." Carbon Life , says Pugh, follows the company "from the naivety of when they're born, through their relationships, to what they become. I wanted [to convey] that in the costumes, so everybody starts naked, then evolves."
"The point shoe may look restrictive, but it's made in such a way the foot can do everything that it needs to do." Pugh used to dance himself, so speaks with some authority. Apparently, the pirouetting dancers "haven't had any problems" with the outfits. Which isn't to say the audience won't if those sharp-edged boots go flying.

New work in progress and snow!

New work in progress, another beach scene, with a bit more melancholic mood. I won't reveal title yet as I don't want to give it all away. The ocean is quite a challenge for me this time... I can't wait to show you the final version of it.

Can you believe we had snow today, like for 5-10 minutes.. then it was all gone again. It's so weird, cause we had such warm weather just last week then it went all cold and very very windy.. and today snow.. I hope the sun comes back soon as I will be spending the Easter days with my family. I look so much forward to it, these days I miss my family all the time.. and the nature.
